There are many facets of health, from physical health, mental health, spiritual health and social health - it's a way of life, a practice that permeates everything.

At ExamineHealth our goal is to provide a lens to focus your efforts on health, a resource that you can use to learn about ways of being healthy, for making forward progress in your health goals or keeping you on track if you're already on your way. We explore ways that you can be a better you, we want to help to raise the health awareness of the planet through articles and resources about healthy ways of living, and through discussions with you about how you practice health in your life. One of the nice things about the study of health is that you never reach the end. You can never be too healthy and we are making new discoveries about health all the time. Our leading scientists are constantly developing new technology that helps our species control their destiny. Your challenge is to sift through all these advancements to determine which ones are truly healthy, and which are shortsighted. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is go back to our roots in nature.

About Our Comment System

At the bottom of each article on this site, you'll see a comment box. We have implemented the Disqus (pronounced 'discuss') commenting system. For those of you that are not familiar with this particular system, Disqus is an advanced commenting mechanism that centers around social community aspects. The idea is that you log into the commenting system with a common user account. Disqus then aggregates all of your comment threads across all of the sites that you comment on and allows you to track those conversations in one place. It also has email subscription options so that you can be notified when someone has replied to your comment. No need to revisit all of the sites that you've commented on to check and see if anyone has replied to you.

The system is designed to allow you to participate in the social fabric of the sites that you frequent. It's the next generation of commenting systems and is being adopted by many of the major websites. If consolidated comment tracking is not something you're interested in, the Disqus system in use here at ExamineHealth is also extremely easy to use outside of those capabilities. It currently offers four (4) different ways to leave a comment:

Guest - you don't have to sign in to leave a comment! You can post anonymously if you'd like, or simply leave your email address for updates. To post as a guest, simply start typing in the box and click the "Post Comment" button. What could be easier?

Facebook Connect - if you are already logged into Facebook the site will automatically log you in with your Facebook account. This allows you to participate in the conversation with a familiar identity without having to register for yet another service. This function is seamless with the site itself and will allows you to post as long as you remain logged into Facebook.

OpenID - OpenID is the latest cross-platform internet identity. More and more sites are adopting OpenID as an authentication mechanism to log in. For more information on OpenID, visit the OpenID Foundation's website. There you can read about OpenID and what it is, you can also sign up for one of your own. If you already have an OpenID, you can sign in here for commenting on this site.

Disqus Profile - finally, if you want the full functionality of the Disqus system, including your own page that aggregates all of your comments from across the web, you can sign in with your Disqus profile. Clicking this button will also allow you to register with Disqus if you haven't already. If you don't have a Disqus account, check it out and see how you like it!
